Have a most wonderful day.
There is a vast abundance of aromas which can be found in nature. Sweet, spicy, woody, grassy, soft, sharp, subtle, strong, pungent, sour, pleasant, unpleasant, utterly repulsive, intoxicatingly delicious, and so on. These scents also have different effects on the consciousness, which are the effects that practitioners of aromatherapy utilize.
Incense is one popular medium of these aromas, which has been used, in many forms, for thousands of years. It was traditionally used for medicinal and healing purposes, and in spiritual practices. Nowadays, people use it for many reasons.
At Scent of Gaia, we currently offer five brands of incense:
Escential Essences is the main premium incense brand we sell. They have a variety of delicious fragrances. Some fragrances of Escential Essences Incense is all-natural, see the Escential Essences Incense page for a list. Along with their premium incense sticks, we sell Escential Essences Incense Cones.
If you are looking to buy incense in bulk, you may want to check out Auric Blends. They come in bundles of 90-100 sticks (said to be 100, but occasionally there may be a couple less). Auric Blends Incense does contain synthetic ingredients.
Morning Star is a Japanese incense brand. Morning Star incense sticks do not have a holder stick in the middle of the incense, like other brands do. The whole stick is burnable, fragrant incense. Their packs of incense also come with a little incense holder. MorningStar Incense contains synthetic ingredients
Our premium, all-natural, Organic Nag Champa Incense by Nandita is simply wonderful. Along with having the positive, aroma-therapeutic effects of incense in general, with Organic Nag Champa Incense you can feel good about the incense smoke you are inhaling.
Woods Incense is all natural, hand-rolled incense from India. The scent is pleasing, warm, and earthy. It has a combination of woods such as cedar and sandalwood have been cherished and honored for ages for their medicinal, aromatic, and healing properties.
Fragrance oils, used in an oil burner, are an ash-free method of filling an area with wonderful fragrances. Used on the skin, scented oils make a fantastic perfume. Whether you’re looking to create the perfect atmosphere for the big party, a mood of serenity for a meditation, or you want a perfume oil to spice yourself up for your next night out, you are in the right place. Scent of Gaia has a nice collection of quality scented oils.
Currently the only oils we sell are Escential Essences fragrance oils. They can be applied to your skin, or burned in a lamp to release the luscious fragrances into the air. Many of the same excellent fragrances from their incense are also available in Escential Essences Oils. We would guess that the same Escential Essences fragrances that are all natural for their incense are also all natural in the oils.
Ah, soap! Don’t you love the feeling of your skin after bathing with nice moisturizing soap? Soap made from natural oils nourishes your skin and leaves it healthy (not just healthy-looking). Natural soaps, such as Nandita’s, can be used to wash your hair and for shaving.
Nandita Glycerine Soap
Nandita Soaps are made from 100% vegetable oil based products. Glycerine soaps are recognized by their translucency. These all-natural, moisturizing soaps leave skin feeling nourished, refreshed, revitalized, healthy, and, of course, clean! There is a variety of wonderful fragrances to choose from, too, including coconut, sandalwood, rosemary, and more.
Sage and Smudges
Smudge sticks are bundles of dried herbs which can be used like incense. We sell smudges made from multiple varieties of sage and other herbs such as cedar, lavender, and yerba santa. People use smudge sticks for a variety of reasons. You can burn it as incense, simply for the pleasure of the smell, but one of the main reasons people buy sage or smudge sticks is for smudging.
Smudging is done to cleanse and purify an area or a person on a metaphysical or energy level. It has been a practice of tribal cultures around the world for many hundreds, possibly thousands, of years. It can be looked at as their version of incense. Some cultures have used incense for similar reasons. Asian cultures burn incense in their temples and monasteries. Wiki says, about Buddhist use of incense, that it is reputed to be a method of purifying the surroundings.
